How to Book

1) Click on the tab "Wellness Offerings", "Ayurvedic Consult @ MMC", or "Yoga" for your appointment type.

2) Create an account and click "Ignore" to bypass the payment information

3) Select an appointment. To view all services, click "View all Wellness Offerings Services" at the bottom to expand the menu.

4) Click "Add" and select a practitioner.

5) Select an available date and time.

6) Click "Pay and Book" and complete the checkout process.

Ayurveda World Herbal Consultation

During the consultation, your practitioner will ask you a series of questions related to diet, lifestyle and minor health concerns. You will gain a greater understanding of your current state of imbalance, and general Āyurvedic practices that are helpful in bringing you back to balance. A Customized Āyurvedic Herbal Formula for your unique mind-body type will be hand-crafted by our professionally trained Practitioner of Āyurvedic Medicine.

Āyurvedic Bodywork

A warm oil massage with sesame, sunflower or coconut oil. Abhyanga style massage works with the downward movement of prana (life force energy) making it deeply grounding and relaxing.

Āyurvedic Bodywork + Acupressure

Generous amounts of oil are used during massage, nourishing the body, mind and spirit. Acupressure points are used in conjunction with the abhyanga which helps extend the balancing and nourishing effect of the abhyanga.

Integrative Massage

Acupressure helps to balance the energy pathways according to traditional Chinese medicine, which facilitates healing and greater energy. By incorporating acupressure with Swedish massage techniques, the feeling of balance is generally felt that usually continues for a few days.

Āyurveda Clinic Consultation

Āyurvedic Consultations are provided by our NAMA Certified Āyurvedic Practitioners. Consultations are for the purpose of personal education to enhance, develop and manage a healthy lifestyle appropriate for one's self and one's family. Initial consultations consist of a brief explanation of Ayurveda and a detailed history, including focused Āyurvedic evaluation, Mind-Body type, and imbalances. Treatment plan may include Āyurvedic diet, lifestyle routine, herbs, yoga, pranayama & meditation.

Yoga Session

A private yoga class customized to meet each individual or group’s needs and for all levels. Class may include asanas (postures), breathing exercises, guided meditation techniques, and yoga philosophy with an emphasis on the traditional eight limbed (Aṣhțāṅga) yoga system as described in Patañjali's Yoga Sūtras. Class types can range from restorative and gentle to strengthening and functional movements. Come learn yoga and the body's powerful and natural self-healing qualities.

Ayurvedic Practitioner, Ashtanga Yoga Teacher, Educator

Drawn to the classical teachings of Ayurveda and Yoga through her teacher Baba Hari Dass. She has studied the indigenous healing practices of Peruvian Shamanism as well as Tantric Buddhism through the Vajrayana lineage. Immersed in her love for plants, natural healing and the well being of all global communities, Kate blends these experiences in her practice to help others co-create long term solutions for inner and outer balance. She is an instructor and clinical practitioner at the College of Ayurveda – Mount Madonna Institute. She holds a Masters Degree with a thesis in women’s reproductive health. She has written articles for local health magazines and been interviewed on talk radio. Practicing member of NAMA, the National Ayurvedic Medical Association.

Jackie Christensen, PhD

Jackie Christensen, PhD

Jackie is an internationally recognized educator in natural health, herbology, and Ayurveda. She serves as a faculty member for many prestigious colleges. Her achievements include graduating on the Dean's Honor List for the Doctoral degree in Naturopathy and receiving a Master’s in Ayurveda from Mount Madonna Institute of Ayurveda. She is also a certified Nutritional Consultant, Master Herbalist, and National Ayurveda Medical Association (NAMA) member. Jackie has hosted international study abroad programs as well as local workshops, online classes, and conferences. Jackie Christensen, Ph.D., has a private practice in Santa Cruz, CA where she specializes in therapies for Type-2 Diabetes.

Sumathi Lingappa, MS, MA-Ayurveda

Sumathi is an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Educator and an Engineer. At MMI she serves as the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Program Coordinator for the MA-Ayurveda program and the Clinical Supervisor for the C-AP and MA-Ayurveda programs. She is also a faculty member at Meru Institute, Ayurveda studies program in San Jose, CA. Sumathi worked in the software industry for 20+ years before finding her true passion in Ayurveda and education. She loves teaching and writing about Ayurveda. She works with clients interested in health and wellness who are exploring alternative non-drug approaches for prevention and management of chronic health conditions.

David Manorath Wheeler, MA (Ayurveda), CMT, Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda’s herbal specialist, has been managing Ayurveda World Herbs (MMI’s herbal dispensary) for many years. He earned his Masters’ degree in Ayurveda in 2016. Manorath began teaching yoga at Mount Madonna in 2003 after completing his 200hr Yoga Teacher Training. Manorath’s belief in the ability of yoga and ayurveda to transform, and illuminate the path of self-development and health is reflected in his daily life and service at Mount Madonna Center. In addition to exploring conscious living based on the teachings of Baba Hari Dass, Manorath brings decades of experience teaching yoga and practicing Ayurveda, along with his extensive knowledge of massage therapy together into his weekly yoga classes, Ayurvedic consultations, and work as the senior manager of Ayurveda World Herbs.
