Tuition: $1,000 (Payable to Mount Madonna Institute; Book your space with a $500 deposit by June 30th)

Lodging, meals, excursions and Incidentals: $800 (payable upon arrival in Guatemala; Visa or Mastercard, check or cash) includes seven nights stay (shared accommodations) at Casa San Juan, airport transfer (on arrival only), all local tours and travel, all meals except one dinner in Antigua. (You may come early or stay longer at a special price of $65 per person per night, two meals included.)

$1800 total cost. Airfare is not included (prices may vary between $500-$700 round trip). Delta, United, American, Taca, Avianca and Aeromexico all fly there. YES, you need a passport.

Space is limited to 15 participants.


Deposits are non-refundable and are not transferable to another person. For cancellations received at least 2 weeks before the program starts, the deposit less a $100 fee will be credited to any other program within one year. No credit is available for cancellations less than two weeks prior to the program start date, for no-shows, or for leaving an event early.

Kamalesh And Tonia

Kamalesh Ginger Hooven (left), MA Ayurveda, Ayurveda Yoga Therapist, E-RYT 500, Chair of Mount Madonna Institute’s School of Yoga and instructor in the College of Ayurveda. You will be able to see Guatemala through the eyes of someone who has lived there for over 30 years and very much feels a part of the culture. Kamalesh has been teaching yoga for 18 years and training teachers since 2004. Her private practice of Yoga Therapy and her consistent study of Ayurveda informs her lifestyle and her teaching. When in Guatemala, you will often find her at her restaurant, Cafe Condesa, located on the Central Park of Antigua.

Tonia Mayerle (right), E-RYT 500, Ayurvedic Health Counselor, faculty in MMI’s School of Yoga and current student in MMI’s Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy program. Tonia lives in Tucson where she leads a meditation group that has grown into a small supportive community of people who are excited to learn and practice practical techniques of classical Yoga teachings based on the Yoga Sutras and Upanishads. Her visit to Guatemala in 2017 inspired her to share this wonderful experience with Kamalesh.
