DEEP TISSUE Technique and Theory for the Posterior Body and Neck

Gain insight on how to recognize & apply proper tools for releasing constricted tissue in the body.

When properly performed, deep tissue work does not require strain or pain for either the client or practitioner. Learn to address distressed tissue effectively and comfortably.

36-Hour Course for Practicing Bodyworkers*

  • Intro to Deep Tissue Theory & Techniques
  • Application & practice of deep tissue stroke sequences
  • Intro & application to myofascial release work
  • Guidelines & procedures for working with clients with chronic pain
  • Specifically designed stretches to facilitate deep release for clients
  • Movement and self-care exercises to support you, the practitioner
  • Yoga, breath-work, and grounding exercises for body-workers

*This class is designed for practicing bodyworkers.
Prerequisite of at least 100hrs training in Swedish massage.

Instructor: Felicity McKnight, C.M.T., is an instructor in the healing arts since 1998, and has been a practicing massage therapist since 1991. Her approach to bodywork is well versed and dynamic. Felicity maintains a thriving private practice in Santa Cruz, specializing in chronic pain relief, and provides massage at a local well-respected spa.
