Tuition, Materials & Administrative
Note: Tuition and Fees may be increased from time to time before the start of a program. Notice will be given at least two months in advance of any increase. No increase in a program’s fees will occur once the program has begun, and no increase in a program’s fees will apply to anyone who enrolled in the program prior to the announcement of the increase.
Tuition Option A (Paid in full before the course begins):
Diploma, Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor
(7 monthly 3-day classes and exams) - $3,570
Certificate - Ayurvedic Practitioner
(21 months including 7 months Diploma) - $11,415
(total, including Diploma)
Master of Arts, Ayurveda (30 months including 21 months Certificate Program) - $17,640
(total, including Certificate - Ayurvedic Practitioner. Masters program includes Masters Internship and Thesis)
Tuition Option B (Monthly Payment Option):
Diploma, Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor (7 months)
$500 in advance, then $470 per month, 7 months
Total: $3,790
Certificate - Ayurvedic Practitioner (14 months)
$500 in advance, then $560 per month for 14 months
Total: $8,340;
Total for both Diploma and Certificate Programs: $12,130
Master of Arts, Ayurveda (9 months)
$500 in advance, then $680 per month for 9 months
Total: $6,620; Total for Diploma, Certificate, and Masters: $18,750
Tuition If Testing Out
This applies to Ayurvedic Practitioners who did not get their Certificate at Mount Madonna Institute and who are entering the College of Ayurveda’s Masters Program by testing out of the first 14 months of the 30-month Masters Program.
Paid in Full (before the course begins): $9,670
Monthly Payment Option:
$500 in advance, then $570/month for the remaining 7 Certificate months and $650/month for the 9 Masters months
Total: $10,340
Other Fees
Application Fee: $50 (nonrefundable)
Registration Fee: $100 (50% refundable if student withdraws before class commences, nonrefundable thereafter)
Book Fees: Not to exceed $500 for total program. Costs vary by program and year.
Make Up Quizzes and Tests: First is free, each one thereafter is $20.
Testing Out (Challenge Exams): $500 (To test out of a program in order to
qualify for the next level program.)
The Application, Application Fee, and the Registration Fee from one year or program cannot be transferred to another year or program. The student must re-apply and pay the appropriate fees.
Cost Per Credit (paid in advance):
- Diploma: $170 per credit. 21 credits including lecture, lab & practicum hours
- Certificate (includes Diploma): $154 per credit. 74 credits including lecture, lab & practicum (Includes Diploma hours, and internship)
- M.A. Degree: $140 per credit. (incl Certificate) 122 credits including lecture, lab & (Includes Certificate practicum hours, internship, and thesis)
Commuting & Housing
There are many housing options for your stay at Mount Madonna Institute. Rooms are in hotel-style buildings (no phones or tv’s in rooms). Some rooms include a private bathroom with shower. Others have access to nearby shared (but private while in use) bathrooms and showers. Cabins are located in a forest grove, and include electricity and heat, but not indoor plumbing. A separate shower house with private shower and dressing rooms, and clean, well-ventilated privies is nearby. Campgrounds are located in secluded redwood groves and have running water, tents provided by the Institute, and tent sites for your own tent. These options, and their respective costs per person per day, including vegetarian meals and use of the hot tub, hiking trails, and other facilities, are as follows.
No refund or adjustment of the meals-lodging fees can be made unless notice of cancellation, housing change, or missed time is received at least two weeks in advance of the reservation date.
