Wellness Center
Kaya Kalpa (“body immortal”) is a system developed in India by early practitioners of Yoga to balance the nervous system, tone and maintain the life force energy and enhance longevity.
Our wellness center shares a facility amongst the redwoods with our “Ayruveda World.” In the comfortable, nurturing environment of Kaya Kalpa, enjoy a luxurious bodywork treatment which may be followed by a full body barely scrub or a soak in the outdoor hot tub. Our expert staff of professional massage practitioners provides relaxation and revitalization with Ayurvedic massage (Abhyanga and Marma Points) as well as Swedana, which detoxifies and vitalizes the body, and Shirodhara, which relaxes the mind. Also offered are a variety of additional treatments including traditional Swedish massage, Asian systems massage and Acupuncture. Color-Sound Acupuncture and Reiki sessions are available to balance and harmonize the subtle energy fields. The wellness center also serves as practicum training for the School of Massage and the College of Ayurveda.
Ayurveda World - Working with Herbs
For over 25 years Ayurveda World has served as our Ayurvedic herbal products laboratory and store. Ayurveda uses synergistic blends of herbs and medicinal substances to support the efficient functioning of the body and to address underlying imbalances. Based on traditional Ayurvedic principles and processes, Ayurveda World produces tinctures, oils, herbal compounds and specific herbal formulations upon request.
The Mount Madonna Institute herbal curriculum trains students in the therapeutic uses of medicinal plants, and the preparation of traditional herbal formulas, some production of Ayurvedic products, and other important clinical activities. Students may volunteer to intern at Ayurveda World to expand their knowledge and experience.
