Master of Arts – Ayurveda

(48 credits / 416 hrs + diploma & certificate hrs = 1,480 hrs total) This 30 month program (including 21 months Certificate Program) offers comprehensive education and training in this traditional form of medicine from India. It combines classroom education and clinical training with an emphasis on creating a skilled Ayurvedic Practitioner. The Master’s program provides education and training in Ayurvedic medical theory, diagnosis, philosophy and treatment modalities. Students learn herbal medicine, constitutional analysis, nutrition, and rejuvenation therapies in the clinic and classroom. The Master of Arts – Ayurveda program offers clinical internship in Ayurvedic Medicine, externships offsite and a required Masters’ Thesis.

Prerequisite: B.A. or B.S. and Certificate – Ayurvedic Practitioner.

Required Courses: AY 500, AY 501, AY 505, AY 510, AY 511, AY 515, AY 520, AY 525, AY 530, AY 535, AY 540, AY 560, AY 560, and AY 561.

How to earn an M.A. degree from MMI if you have graduated from another Ayurvedic school:

If you have graduated from a NAMA-approved (National Ayurvedic Medicine Association) Ayurvedic school with Ayurvedic studies equivalent to the first 14 months of our MA program (our 7 month Diploma program and 7 months of our Certificate program), you are eligible to take the MMI challenge exam. The challenge exam covers the first 14 months of our 30 month MA program. When the exam is passed, the student can earn the Master of Arts – Ayurveda degree in 16 months (when meeting all degree requirements) instead of 30 months.
